Velocity Checks assess a combination of data points and to evaluate transaction behaviour and block attempts where needed.
Essentially, they are conditional if-statements linked to timeframes, such as:
If A happens within B time, then do C.
Velocity Checks can be implemented to allow for a maximum number of transactions on a daily or monthly basis, based on the below factors:
- IP Address
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Refund Amount
Any transaction attempts made after the maximum count has been achieved will result in a
blocked status, advising the transaction could not be completed.
A user with Manager permissions can configure the Velocity Checks directly in the Acquired.com Hub. See the below steps to guide you through the steps required:
- Firstly, go to the Settings menu and from the Company tab open the Fraud section.
- In the Velocity Checks section select + Add Checks.
- Configure the required checks and save.
